The original “Tangled” animated feature premiered in 2010, reimagining the 1812 Brothers Grimm fairy tale of Rapunzel, a princess with long, blonde hair trapped in a tower, hoping to be rescued by her true love.
Disney has not announced plans to remake this popular film, but a live-action version would align with its recent trend of bringing animated classics to life, as seen with “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Aladdin.” Remakes of “Snow White” and “Bambi” are also expected in the next few years.
While there are no specific plans announced for a “Tangled” remake, Disney’s release schedule for 2025 and 2026 includes several unnamed projects. According to Rotten Tomatoes, there are at least 16 “untitled Disney films” planned for release over the next two years.
