about the project and casting

“Proof,” a comic series published by Image Comics, follows the adventures of John “Proof” Prufrock, a Bigfoot working for a secret government organization called The Lodge. This agency is dedicated to tracking, studying, and protecting cryptids—mythical creatures that most believe to be mere legends. Proof, alongside his human partner Ginger Brown, navigates a world filled with extraordinary beings, from the elusive Dover Demon to the menacing Thunderbirds. As Proof delves deeper into these mysteries, he uncovers secrets about his own past and the hidden world of cryptids. With its blend of supernatural intrigue, horror, and compelling character dynamics, “Proof” offers a unique and thrilling narrative for comic book fans.

Latest news on the project as of June 24th, 2024

Fox is turning the comic book “Proof” into a TV series.

The network is developing a supernatural crime procedural inspired by the Image Comics series.

Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott, known for selling the supernatural feature “Lore” (based on the IDW graphic novel) to Warner Bros. with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson attached, are behind this adaptation. This marks their first venture into television, following their success in selling features such as “Hood” to Sony with Jerry Bruckheimer and “Merry Little Christmas” to Paramount with Neal Moritz. Goodman has written “Priest,” “The Last Witch Hunter,” and “Underworld: Blood Wars,” while Lott has contributed to “Bass Reeves.”

The duo will pen the one-hour drama, which is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios, with Terence Carter and David Boorstein of Westbrook Studios, along with Adam Goldworm of Aperture Entertainment, serving as executive producers. Alex Grecian, the creator of “Proof,” will also be involved as a producer.

Described as a mix between “The X-Files” and “Men In Black,” the comic book series “Proof” debuted in October 2007 and ran for 33 issues until 2010.
