The movie would be based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 publication, “Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.” It chronicles Springsteen’s odyssey in crafting his sixth studio album, a somber assortment of songs that represented a departure from the exuberance of his earlier hit, “Born to Run.” “Nebraska” was recorded by Springsteen on a four-track cassette in his New Jersey bedroom several years prior to the release of “Born in the U.S.A.” by him and the E Street Band.
