Noel Gallagher is an English musician, songwriter, and producer, best known as the lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist, and primary songwriter of the rock band Oasis. Often referred to as the “driving creative force” behind the band, Noel wrote many of their biggest hits, including “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Champagne Supernova.” His sharp wit and candid interviews made him a standout figure during the height of Britpop in the 1990s.
After joining Oasis, which was co-founded by his younger brother Liam, Noel’s songwriting propelled the band to massive success. Oasis became one of the biggest British bands of all time, with their albums Definitely Maybe and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? achieving multi-platinum status. However, the volatile relationship between the Gallagher brothers eventually led to Oasis‘ breakup in 2009.
Noel subsequently formed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, releasing his self-titled debut album in 2011. His music has since explored a broader range of sounds, incorporating elements of psychedelia, experimental rock, and electronica, while still maintaining the anthemic qualities of his work with Oasis. Albums like Chasing Yesterday (2015) and Who Built the Moon? (2017) have solidified his reputation as one of the UK’s most enduring and influential songwriters.
