Following in the footsteps of other musical biopics and rockumentaries (think Ray meets Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story), we’d be interested in seeing an Abner Jay movie that would introduce him to the world. Who better to play the eccentric and self proclaimed “last working southern black minstrel”? Jay was a “one-man-band” musician who toured the south in his converted mobile home. He sang minstrel & field songs & even Christian hymns. Wild music! Hear for yourself.
