Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis, professionally known as Theo James, is a British actor, musician, and former model, born on December 16, 1984, in Oxford, England. His cultural background is diverse, with Greek heritage from his father’s side and English and Scottish ancestry from his mother’s.

James initially pursued a degree in Philosophy at the University of Nottingham before redirecting his focus towards acting. He attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School to hone his craft. His career breakthrough came in 2010 with his role as Jed Harper in the British television series “Bedlam.”

However, it was his portrayal of Tobias “Four” Eaton in the film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s “Divergent” series that catapulted him to international fame in 2014. His performance garnered acclaim and established him as a prominent figure in Hollywood. James reprised his role in subsequent installments of the franchise, including “Insurgent” (2015) and “Allegiant” (2016).
