Darshan Thoogudeepa (born February 16, 1977), commonly known as Darshan, is an Indian actor, producer, and distributor prominent in the Kannada film industry. Born in Mysore, Karnataka, he is the son of actor Thoogudeepa Srinivas. Darshan’s early exposure to the film industry sparked his interest in acting, leading him to pursue a career in cinema.
Darshan made his acting debut with a minor role in the film Mahabharatha (1997) but gained significant recognition with his breakthrough performance in Majestic (2002). This role established him as a leading actor in Kannada cinema. Over the years, he has starred in numerous successful films, including Kalasipalya (2004), Gaja (2008), Saarathi (2011), and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (2012), showcasing his versatility and box office appeal.

On June 11th, Darshan Thoogudeepa and his wife, Pavithra Gowda, were arrested for their alleged role in the murder of a man in Bengaluru. Apart from the couple, 10 others were also taken into custody by the police in connection with the matter. The 47-year-old actor and his wife were picked up from his farmhouse in Mysuru and brought back to Bengaluru for questioning. The victim, Renuka Swamy (33), was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. He worked at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga and had allegedly sent derogatory messages to Darshan’s wife.
